In Memoriam Donations
Many times in the past, 'In Memoriam' donations on behalf of stroke survivors and Stroke Recovery Association members have been misdirected to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Family members often assume that the two organizations are affililated and are unaware that SAM is a separate organization. With this misunderstanding, they don't realize that SAM does nor receive any money from donations sent to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
The Heart & Stroke Foundation focuses on preventing and reducing disability from heart disease and stroke, through research, education and health promotion.
The Stroke Recovery Association assists in the recovery process of stroke survivors and their families after a stroke has been experienced.
We encourage stroke survivors to inform their children, excutor and caregivers about the diffence between the two organizations and which one they belong to, so that donations made in honour or in memory of SAM members can be directed to our organization.
For more information on how to ensure that your donations goes to SAM, please call us at 942-2880.
